quick review:

A frustrating watch. A disgusting experience. Not just because of the toilet humor. But more, because you just can't get over the "How could SUCH an awful film be made?" feeling even after an hour of having watched the film. A film that tries too hard to get cute.

So-So by Naresh Kumar Deoshi, Apun Ka Choice ... A lighthearted rom-com that gives a peek into the Parsi community, but not without trotting out the obvious clichés, Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi is surprisingly pleasing despite Farah Khan... full review

Thumbs down by Baradwaj Rangan, Blogical Conclusion, The New Sunday Express ...the film is an amateur play at best, with constant cutaways to exaggerated reaction shots from the silent-movie era... full review

Thumbs up by Taran Adarsh, Bollywood Hungama ...SHIRIN FARHAD KI TOH NIKAL PADI brings back misty memories of KHATTA MEETHA, though, I wish to add, the two stories are not remotely similar. However, what's common is the lovability and charm the two films exude.... full review

Thumbs up by Deboshree Ghosh, Bollywood Life ...The film is cooked in a cauldron that has generous doses of modern Mills and Boonish stuff, a great amount of Bawa madness and a sprinkle of tolerable Bollywood spices.... full review

So-So by Saumya Sharma, BookmyShow ...Although the music wasn’t completely amazing, the feeling behind each song would keep you completely hooked to the screen. ... full review

So-So by Charu A Mahesh, Buzz in Town ...Though being a film editor helped Bela as she didn’t let any scene overflow but post interval the execution fails and the otherwise short ‘2 hour’ film looks stretched, thanks to a rickety script and never ending random jokes ... full review

So-So by Khalid Mohamed, Deccan Chronicle ...Unarguably, the two lead performers carry the enterprise on their shoulders.... full review

Thumbs down by Ankur Pathak, Desi Martini ...What works with Shirin Farhad is the cute chemistry of the unlikely lead pair and it works well very efficiently because of a brilliant Boman Irani. Farah Khan appears uncomfortably conscious in her new demeanor and is in her comfort zone only when she's allowed to dance... full review

So-So by Smita, Desi Martini ...I am a half bawa myself and was watching the movie with my mom and we can vouch for the authenticity of most of the movie. There are a few over the top sequences and a slight overdose of loony characters which makes those sequences a bit amateurish and tacky. However, thankfully these are not too many. ... full review

Thumbs down by Trisha Gupta, FirstPost ...The pleasure of watching choreographer-director Farah Khan gyrate expertly to steps we usually might see her heroines carry out isn’t enough to compensate for the impatience we feel as yet another song interrupts the already minimal proceedings of plot.... full review

So-So by Nupur Barua, ...This is the first time in his career that Boman Irani plays a romantic solo hero, and he pulls it off well. He knows his character, and the setting, and therefore gives us the most realistic portrayal, ever, of his life. ... full review

Thumbs down by Martin D'Souza, ...A good choreographer need not be a good dancer. A director need not be a good actor. And for a film to have a decent run, the casting needs to be taken seriously, rather than giving out roles based on friendship in the industry. ... full review

Thumbs up by Rajeev Masand, IBN Live ...Setting it against the backdrop of the Parsi community gives the film a distinct texture, and much of Shirin Farhad’s light-hearted laughs come from the quirkiness of its characters. ... full review

Thumbs down by Sanjukta Sharma, Live Mint ...Being the girl next door requires dramatic talent; a good actor does this without the effort showing. Khan takes to her role with zest, and her contribution to the film is the chutzpah. Her dialogue delivery, expressions and pitches are all awry. ... full review

So-So by Janhavi Samant, MiD DAY ...Surprisingly Farah seems quite awkward with her lines. Her Shirin seems a little reserved in comparison. It is this lack of balance that marks the biggest drawback of the film.... full review
