@Anuj can you tell me what is the difference between Semi Hit,Above Average,Below Average and flop.
Well i did watch the movie and it is a decent watch basically the second half is good but it is not as edgy as you might to watch.Special 26 was way ahead.Better luck next time.

@Kapil and @Fan i just watched the film and thought about it why there is such hue and cry over a film.firstly the about the business you like it or not but it is true that the film is huge hit and also it is appreciated not immensely but good.As far as film goes about it is never says that you should not believe in God or religion what it says believe and have faith but not blind faith and there lies the thin line. There are sequences in film which might not say all but they clearly suggest that we as species are in danger because of blind faith. An essay can be written on it and then too it will not be sufficient.A film made in India will tend to show Hinduism more and at least my religion is not that weak that a film will destroy it but what a film says is to introspect.Even is USA there are films which are controversial Dogma for eg even The Da Vince code and Angels and demons.

  • Haider:

@Anuj i think Shahid is also one of producers of the film so i think he would get his cut in the selling of film not like he would get the fee for doing the film.Kaminey had two major things going for it first the song which was quite a hit on those days and also Shahid at that time had Jab We Met so which made the film sail through with Haider it is not a typical commercial film as well as no song like that though i have heard the music is good but i dont see it grossing 80-100 Crs.

@Meetu how come Anuj be shown as Anup, look at the last comment is it only me who is seeing this? also what i have heard and seen this is Shahid's best work and you are saying he is a sore thumb.
@Anuj on the last point i completely agree with you but i think Omkara had Ajay and Kareena which is why it was sold like that.
Regarding the point why Haider is released with Bang-2 i think in past too we have seen two films doing good business, in earlier days Dil,Ghayal Raja Hindustani with Ghatak and Gadar with Lagaan and all these were Hit.Also Shahid's Vivah & Jab We met did not open great but slowly they became hit so what i think is Bang-2 will start with bang but if Haider finds some appreciation it had two weeks to run which in my view is good for it because it would not open great but atleast has some chance to go distance.

@Anuj i agree with you but still VB had only 2-3 films with stars if you can call them and only one Multistarrer film Omkara and which i can easily say was no less entertaining it is only that it got A certificate that really hampered the chances because it had the star cast to pull the audience. He generally makes films with Irfan,PK etc and they dont have the calibare atleast when he made those earlier films to pull the audience to theater. The point which i am making is either AK or VB or any other person they do try to make films for the audience only and not for themselves. It is just that we as a audience just like to spend money on light entertaining films with least logic but that too does not mean the other films cannot be appreciated and we cannot demand some logic in our so called commercial films.

  • Daawat-e-Ishq:

@Fan and @Anup this debate is more than year old, the time i started visiting this site.I am afraid @Anuj has not changed and i would say others too have not changed.
@Anup I agree about Salman's Fan following but i too would say it is no mean effort to give 7 consecutive 100 Crs+ films no other actor has done that and i dont think anybody can deny that.
@Fan i don't understand why Anurag and Vishal B are termed as Art film directors and believed to make meaningful cinema. Also i don't understand apart from No Smoking and that girl in yellow boots his any other film was not that decent. And same goes for Vishal on Saath Khoon Maaf was his only film which was not watchable others were quite decent though if the Hero of the films does not hit 20-30 people means it is not commercial i dont think so.Films like Iqbal,Chak De even Barfi were not so commercial but did business.Though you are right about YRF and Dharma they are production houses which often show glossy side and attract people with it.

  • Finding Fanny:

I watched it on my laptop and it was not that bad a movie.
@Anuj I think you right on few points but you are still making a point about few good commercial films but you also ignoring a fact that movies like Bodyguard,Ye jawani hai deewani sorry @Meetu but i did not like it at all etc earn so much despite not even an average flick which creates confusion that which movie is good or bad.
Like a Dhoom3 is one of the biggest hits but do you really think it was that good and this were i think box office figures are misleading even by your standard it must be a good trending movie to earn that much amount.
I think what ever i can understand by your point of you reading so many of your comments is that the economics of the movie should be decent so that it earns that much amount which can keep all the parties afloat.Well i liked GOW 1 and shaitan as well as Singham and Dabangg and i think every one India atleast have a opinion.

  • Singham Returns:

@Anuj i completely agree on this that the stardom does take precedence over content but it is also upto the star to give us some different options to watch with in commercial viability.
@Meetu you have given this movie higher rating then Holiday which i think too was decent movie.

  • Raja Natwarlal:

@Meetu i think this movie reminds me of one of the earlier movie Ek Khiladi Ek Hasina and it was a decent film.Hope I am wrong but it seems heavily inspired by that.

@Meetu ise kahte hai ghar main hi maat khaana then how can you convince @Guddu :-).
@Guddu i think she does not like the typical Masala films .She did not like Holiday and gave average rating which according to me was quite a decent film except Sonakshi. So she is like that only and that what i liked in her reviews. The same Raja sen and Taran Adarash go over the top and had given reviews which were only dependent upon either the star or the production house.

@Anuj missed you and your discussions on this forum.well critics do sometimes a favour to those who want to watch film by promos and sometimes by name etc.So i don't think it is at all a going to end though critics do fail some time to understand the overall picture of a film and some times underestimate the audience.I think Meeta does not give biased reviews just because she loves one star and not other more often then not her reviews do give at least me a clear picture whether i should watch on screen or my laptop. But i do understand is she does not like typically commercial films which are hardcore masala films.
@Meeta in between it is bit strange that if i do not give comments for more then 6 months all my previous history is gone.Is it like that only?

@Meetu,I think this film would be at least 250 cr if not more,By the way i liked the review of yours at least this time Salman had given something to you in the department of acting.I completely agree with you about his acting skills and he himself has commented that he is not a great actor but he is a great entertainer and that is what 90% people look for, so 599 people in theater were only watching the entertainment and nothing else and if going by your words this could be really entertaining movie not necessary classy.
