Has a nice depth to it apart from being fun. Ayushmann gets better by the day.

Yay! Thumbs Up:
Indian Hidden Figures. Not as good as Hidden Figures, but nice enough, and inspirational in parts.

"Still waiting for the film that required a speech but didn’t succumb. A film which ends at the character feeling liberated by their realisation and isn’t compelled to teach the world how to get there."...
Isn't Queen that film?
Other than that, completely agree with your review.
I think the term Whatsapp University was coined by my favorite journalist Ravish Kumar - at least I first heard it from him. My favorite satirist Akash Banerjee has T-shirts with this logo. Nice to see it used in a review by one of my favorite reviewers. :)
I was just about to comment that I loved the last line of your review, when I scrolled down and discovered that it's already being bashed. :) Perspectives, I guess. Honestly, the only part of the movie which didn't work for me was the clip at the end, not because I have anything against our PM but simply because the Mars Mission didn't even have anything to do with the current govt - it launched in 2013!
I've followed your reviews from years, but this is my first comment here. Thank you for one of the few bad reviews of the film. Another was Sucharita's on Film Companion, and she's getting trolled like anything. You can't even criticize a movie these days without rape threats. :( The sad part is that I absolutely love Shahid Kapoor, and he's done such great work with grey characters in Udta Punjab, Haider and Kaminey. But this one isn't grey - it flat-out GLORIFIES VIOLENCE AND SUBJUGATION OF WOMEN. Period, With badass music in the background and the entire theatre cheering and hooting when the woman is slapped or kissed without consent. The huge success of 2 such movies scares me.
