OH God what a let down the movie was... the story just lost steam in second half. First half was alright except for the mehak bit going on too long. In the second half I think the director totally lost it.. It could totally have been different had he followed Prithviraj's take on his feelings for RAni given that the shot they ended interval at ! It just became a case of what would have been..what a waste of good actors.
I should fix my review of the tam version a bit.. I think I would loved it if I was a teenager..because it feeds on that kind of romantic notion..and a lot of chemistry between silamabarasan and trisha... So its sort of with mixed feelings that I left the movie.
Interestingly..the tamil version and telugu had different endings...wonder what he will do in hindi?
Hi Meetu, Your preview seems quite positive. For me the trailer gives an impression of someone wanting to make a heavily violent film and using remake of agneepath as an excuse !
" Hrithik Roshan doing the SRK-arms-spread action in a dance to the word mohabbatein. "which song was that? senorita? didnt notice it :(
The movie was good.. because I didn't hear too much about it before I saw it.. the dialogues were funny even when i heard them the second time..after having seen it in trailer..
the bits about their actual adventures was not as enthralling as I would have like..for instance the underwater part, Actual that scene was better shot in Kites..Wish they had taken more pains in it..
Anyway, its been a long time since i went to a movie for which it was hard to get tickets :) good fun
so wiki says its a remake of an English movie Accepted, which was quite funny. I hope the Hindi version is not just a 3 hour extended version of the same!
I have not seen this movie, but since you are on the subject of dvds and movies about criminals, watch Karam (starring John and Priyanka)if you get a chance for its direction if nothing else.
so finally I watched this movie but missed the end..and I must say I was happily surprised with it for the part that I watched. My biggest problem with SLB's movies is that his sets are out of here..he making it non real but he is claiming that it is the current century!
anyway, if I ignore all that, and think of this as a play with exaggerated sets then the acting was pretty decent. The screenplay was not bad.. and once I again think that he should be in theater and not in movies!
hey..promos look good.. the only thing I dislike is the kind of clothes that pinky palkar is wearing is so not mumbai's underbelly. she looks too posh!
unless they explain that she is from a middle class nghbd somehow!
Shilpa: Yes, you are right about the fashion part. The painting (some sketch that shows up in the promos is from emma, I dont remember if that was in clueless it probably was :) )
like HP pointed out its remake of a tamil movie..so am not sure it makes sense to give such high points for the screenplay
