Great post, Shweta! The line "Judging them is like calling Shahid Kapoor a kamina in real life." made me laugh but also think.
Meetu - great choice of guest-writer and post. I was about to share this on Twitter when I realised the link was too long to allow me to comment on it. Do consider adding a sharewith panel at the end of each post where the reader can just click on the sharing mechanism of their choice (Twitter, Facebook, Digg, StumbleUpon etc).
Ditto and more, Meetu. I so wish I'd read your review before going for the movie. The past few movies have put me completely off Bollywood. No more movies unless you give them a glowing reference!!
Welcome back to the world of DIY. And who better than aapke patidev to support WOGMA? I don't know if the format bothers your loyal readers all that much but yes changes can be disruptive. Here's to a long life of this one! It's good to have you back!
@Bollyfan: Most jokes are at someone else's expense. I have (like most of us) been at the receiving end of my share of ethnic jokes. But it's possible to discern the malice from the banter. The jokes in BADMAASH COMPANY are exchanged between friends, just the way people in real life do...not to make someone feel bad but as a normal part of the bonding process. Of note, the movie also touches (albeit lightly) on how Chinese jokes could be hurtful to people from North-East and the perperator apologizes. Thank you for commenting.
LOL! I'm going to see the movie tomorrow so of course, I had to stop and check what WOGMA had to say about it. But the 'NittyGritty' section made me double over in laughter. You really have an excruciating eye for detail, don't you? :-)
The review is a wee bit confusing, Meetu. I was hoping for a Yes, go for it! or a No, dump it! answer. But I guess some movies aren't that simple. I am a little confused by the mentions of chick-flick (which usually a guy wouldn't like) and the associations of maturity (I've yet to see a chick-flick that delivered on that).
Incidentally I'm going for the movie today afternoon and I'll tell you what I think of it, once done.
Meetu: Nope, didn't manage it. And this weekend and the next and any time in between are reserved for the Kala Ghoda Art Festival. :-p I guess I missed a Sunday after all!
I've been looking for a good, unbiased review of this movie and I found it here. Thanks, Meetu! If I manage to catch 'Sunday' this Sunday, we can discuss it later in the week! :-D
Actually I loved the movie. I spoke to the boy about this issue a couple of months back and he tracked this movie down for me to watch.
I don't know if it's because I spent a considerable time in the area described by the movie but somehow the stories just resonated with me.

Dropping in to check out your advice before going to the box office. Just stopped to add that I loved the way you tied off the post. Great ending!

Okay, I saw the movie and now I get it. Your review is a bang on. The movie gave me some food for thought - and a post of course!

Just dropping by to say I'm loving the new look! It's clean, simple and easy to navigate. The logo really works too.
Hey, great review! I didn't notice at first that it was by a guest-reviewer. I linked this post, anyhow. :-)
