  • Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara:

By far one of the best films of the year. It was so real in many ways. Probably, the financial divide was dragged a bit too much. Music was understated and performances crisp, except Hritik.

  • The King's Speech:

Brilliant movie. Impeccable acting, esp. by Geoffrey Rush. The director's attempt to convey, in a subtle way, that the King is no different from a common man and how lonely he often feels was something I liked a lot. Glad it won the Oscar for Best Picture though Inception deserved the Best Screenplay written directly for the screen.

  • Ye Saali Zindagi:

Oh this was such a disappointment. Chitrangda's character lacked the sophistication that is generally associated with her. Also, I did not see any point in the on & off romance of that gangster and his wife. And as you said, it was literally too dark. The only good things were the acting of the Police Officer & Irrfan Khan. Otherwise, this was a total epic fail.

  • Dil to Bacha Hai Ji:

The last two lines more or less convinced me not to watch this. Thanks, as always, for saving my money and time.

  • No one killed Jessica:

Ah! Glad to hear that this movie is good.

I just observed that Viday Balan hasn't had a flop in 3 years! Her last three films are Paa, Ishqiya and this and has acted only in one movie per year! In fact, she even won awards for the first two. Impressive lady.

Pretty tangential to the post but couldn't resist.

  • Udaan:

One of the best movies of the year! Beautiful story, killer cinematography and wonderful acting and to top it all, one of the best OSTs of the year. No doubt you gave 5/5 to the lyricist. Glad to have seen this on the big screen. I hope it wins some awards, which will encourage more directors to make such movies.

  • Despicable Me:

    Hi Meetu,

I have a suggestion. I subscribe to your reviews by mail and generally use mobile net. It would be great if it is possible to get the full review of a movie in the notifier mail itself instead of anyone having to click on the link & coming here and then reading it. It's a little cumbersome you see, especially since Wogma doesn't seem to have a mobile version or it does, but my browser doesn't seem to render it. If not the full review, atleast the quick review part by which one can decide if the movie is worth a full review reading.

    Again, just a suggestion :)

    Cheers,
    Kalyan

  • Anjaana Anjaani:

Let me guess what happened. Someone told you some awesome news just before you saw this movie and you were very happy! There could be no other explanation for anyone liking this movie!! Pathetic script. Boring PJs. Stale ending. If I ever feel like committing suicide, I will watch this again.

  • Band Baaja Baaraat:

Hey! This movie felt more like a jing-bang & romantic version of Rocket Singh, maybe because of the underlying entrepreneurship theme.

I totally agree with moviebhakt about having a the hangover of Anuskha Sharma. She was awesome, esp. her expressions and dialogs.

Hey! A friend, a trustworthy source, saw it yesterday and strongly recommended it. Thought of watching it tomorrow and now after reading this, I am confused :|

  • Paathshaala:

Phew. 0.4 out of 5 is the worst ever rating. Glad did not book tickets in advance to this. Even Deshdrohi probably would have got a better rating!

Thanks Meetu for taking this bold risk of watching this movie and hence saving many lives like mine.
