Update: This post was written at the end of day 2 of the festival. My thoughts at the end of the festival are posted here.

* * *

I could see my excitement wane away as I sat through some pretty boring - very mediocre movies, and just a couple watchable movies. And finally! The seventh movie made my trip to the festival worth every bit of time, energy and currency spent on the festival.

4 months, 3 weeks, and 2 days (Romania) cannot be described with adjectives. Beg, borrow, steal an original and watch it. Maybe I am underestimating adjectives but an hour after the movie and I am still speechless.

The other watchable ones were The Eighth Day of the Week (Hungary) and Brick Lane (UK). And the ones who scored under, “totally avoidable” were Monkeys in winter (Bulgaria), A World Without Thieves (China), Relatives, and When Father was Away on Business (Serbia).

Well, I am still going to blame the high “miss” rate on not being able to choose the “right” movie based on the title, director and country of the movie. I have to admit here that I refuse to read the synopsis of the movie, because it does give the movie away.
