Keep It Going

In tough times like "new release strikes!", the theaters are pumping fists and feet in air trying to entice viewers. So, it’s good news for all ye out there who either missed some of the "superhits" in the last couple years. Or for those of you who don't mind a repeat viewing to survive the drought. This week my local theater is playing the following -

Which ones would I like to watch again? Hmmm...A Wednesday because of the wonderful performance by Naseeruddin Shah. And maybe Life in a Metro.just because its so human and its about relationships.

On the other hand Race and Jodhaa Akbar are completely out of the question, because the former was just about tolerable as a first watch, and the latter was excruciatingly long and bored me out of my wits. Why anyone who missed them should want to watch them is beyond me.

But the best news is Gulaal is still playing. Yay!! Might just go and watch that again.

Interestingly, this strike has given a lot of exposure to regional films. I've never seen such response to Marathi films in Pune. was sold out on a weekday afternoon. And so is today's release Gallit Gondhal Dillit Mujra. It's really exciting to watch such overwhelming response to films that might or might not have done well otherwise.

I'm off to watch the Gallit... in a bit.
