Tanu Weds Manu - Notepad
Tanu Weds Manu
quick review:
45 minutes of complete entertainment followed by 55 dull ones of nothing happening. All of which is tied up in the 20 most 'blah' ones ever written. You do the math. Kangna is a misfit and the film has the worst climax a film could ever have.
This page has additional observations, other than the ones noted in the main review.
Plot Summary
Manu (R Madhavan) is a NRI settled in the US for 12 years. He's in India and his parents have organized girls for him to "see" for a marital alliance. The first girl he meets is Tanu (Kangna Ranaut). And all does not go well, or does it not?
What Worked
- The titles linking the actor to the name of the character. Awesome!
- The awkwardness when Manu sees Tanu for the first time.
- Payal's (Tanu's friend's) accent.
- The meaningless lives "good" boys live is captured in just a couple of lines.
What did not
Note: This section simply lists the things that I did not like in this movie. This
is not the overall impression about this movie. Please read the
full review here
- Kangna Ranaut's silly grin in some scenes.
- Kangna Ranaut cannot dance.
Nitty-Gritty
This section lists things that I think are not important to the overall impact of the movie. In most cases, it could be explained away by something like, "we noticed the glitch after the scene was shot and there were schedule/budget issues and thus we could not re-shoot it". I like giving the makers the benefit of doubt, but I am amused nevertheless. Hopefully, they will tickle you too.
- Continuity jerk - Kangna Ranaut's ghungta (part of the sari forming a veil) kept moving up and down on its own.

the review is missing the parental guidance. can you provide that?
I saw your review before going for the movie and such is the belief i have in you that post interval i started playing a game on my cell phone which is something i never do while watching a movie. Either ways i had an awesome time watching the first half and a decent time playing on my phone. :)
I disagree with this review; after a long time I watched an enjoyable Hindi movie and in a filled theater.
@md sorry, don't know how i missed that. Have added it now. Thanks for pointing it out
@Sumit ha ha. *takes a bow*
@Aditya i'm glad you enjoyed it!
I take back my words that you rated it incorrectly. I think you rated the different parts correctly, 3/5 or 2/5.. only 2 or 3 out of the 5 viewers will enjoy this movie. I belong to the minority here... :)
So it means it a watch once type movie....
My friends says its good....
New style but old topic like band baaja baraat.for those who love to watch wedding movies
I actually liked the film very much. I knew there could be only one ending but still was engrossed in the film. Yes, the second half could have been a little tighter but thats a small price to pay.
The lead actors and the actor's sidekick were terrific.
Horrible movie, Kangna is so annoying and the character is irritating and absolutely unlikeable. I agree with the review. Madhavan is good.
