So-So by Nikhil Kumar, Apun Ka Choice ...In short, all 'Mr. X' offers is a few sparkling moments from Emraan Hashmi. Watch it for him if you must.... full review

Thumbs down by Bobby Sing, Bobby Talks Cinema.com ...Hence it doesn’t matter whether they are enjoying or not the process of writing and making these films, the production houses are bound to keep supplying such kind of hurriedly made business products to the multiplexes in the name of cinema. And the plan will keep on working till ‘the consumer or the viewer’ wakes up from his sleep in the coming future... full review

So-So Bollywood Hungama ...Given the fact that all of Emraan Hashmi's films have at least one (smash) hit track in them, this film falters in that department as well. The film's music (Jeet Ganguly, Ankit Tiwari) lacks any hit or hummable songs. It's the film's background music (Raju Singh) that manages to hold the film. While the film's cinematography (Pravin Bhatt) is decent, its editing (Kuldeep Mehan) is average. ... full review

Thumbs down by Namrata Thakker, Bollywood Life ...Buy a DVD of Anil Kapoor and Sridevi starrer Mr. India this weekend and watch it with your family because spending a single penny on Mr. X is a crime!... full review

So-So by Karan Raikar, BookmyShow ...All in all, Mr. X is a decent entertainer, but falls short in more than one area. An ambitious attempt, the film will not disappoint Emraan Hashmi fans. Watch it if you have nothing to do over the weekend! ... full review

Thumbs down Daily Bhaskar ...Why watch? Watch it if the doctor has advised you that watching bad films is the only thing that can save your life.... full review

Thumbs down by Sushmita Murthy, Deccan Chronicle ...Performances in the film are strictly okay. Emraan does a fair job of portraying his helpless character, but the story is so weak that it weighs him down with it. Amyra lends immense prettiness to the screen, but unfortunately that’s the best she does. As for Tanmay Bhatt, he’s probably got enough matter to joke about for many of his stand-up acts to come.... full review

So-So by Parampara Patil Hashmi, Desi Martini ...With all the cliches, the ingredient that Mr. X missed out was the X factor!... full review

Thumbs down by Smita Vyas Kumar, Desi Martini ...A feeble story and nonsensical side effects ensure that this movie will do a Mister X from the theatres very soon!... full review

Thumbs down by Aneela Zeb Babar, Desi Martini ...- Mr X is like any of our Exes. We are just not that into you.... full review

Thumbs down by Sidhant Shori, Desi Martini ...Avoid.... full review

So-So by Parichay Mehta, Desi Martini ...His only superpower is going invisible when not in sunlight & under ultraviolet lights. Decide for yourself now.... full review

Thumbs down by Tushar Joshi, DNA ...Revisit Hollow Man instead and leave Mr X to debut on your TV on a lazy Sunday afternoon.... full review

So-So by Devesh Sharma, Filmfare ...What Vikram Bhatt has done is that he’s set up a premise for a superhero movie franchise. Now, he needs to hire a better writer and work on the script like crazy before taking it forward in the next installment. We would love to have another homegrown superhero for sure…... full review

Thumbs down by Mihir Fadnavis, FirstPost ...The songs are the standard Vishesh Film-flavour, which means they are irritating at best and generic at worst. There’s an underlying strain in the film of turning Mr X into a superhero and if this were a self-aware comedy, it would have worked fine with the exact same cast. Unfortunately Bhatt believes in rendering films with heart stopping seriousness. The net result is a film that’s awful enough to make you remember Tushar Kapoor’s gem Gaayab as a work of art.... full review

Thumbs down by IANS, Free Press Journal ...The character of the corrupt cop isn’t fully etched out, and so his motivations remain far too hazy to be convincing. That is the problem with Mr X as a whole. It is overly contrived, flouts logic at crucial junctures of the narrative, and fails to be gripping. And that is the least that a sci-fi drama should be.... full review

So-So by Zehra Abbas, fullhyd.com ...Today's audiences might get nostalgic about Mr. India and laugh indulgently at its flaws, but films like Mr. X, made in 2015, will be greeted only with derisive jeers. The Bhatt camp needs to up the quality of its future ventures if it wants to move away from the B-grade moniker.... full review

Thumbs down by Martin D'Souza, Glamsham.com ...One should not be mistaken for Arunodhay Singh's act of the bad cop as an extension of his role from MAIN TERA HERO. Same to same; Ditto! ... full review

Thumbs down by Rohit Vats, Hindustan Times ...Mr X is badly written, and we don't want to talk about acting. Emraan Hashmi appears bored, but Amyra Dastur looks improved in emotional scenes. But it is not enough to save the film. Mr X is a complete waste of time. And, before clicking on to another link, you would like to take note of this conversation. It takes place inside a bathroom.... full review

Thumbs down by Rajeev Masand, IBN Live ...Don't miss the film, or you'll miss what is likely one of the year's strongest performances by a female actor.... full review

So-So by Ananya Bhattacharya, india today ...In all, Mr. X comes across as a decent one-time watch, if you choose to reflexively force-shut your ears to some of the soapy dialogues. An important takeaway from the film: Workplace romances are doomed, and will more often than not, get you into trouble. The story is very predictable, but there aren't really those moments when you feel why the film doesn't end. Two for the film, and a half extra for Hashmi. Watch it for Emraan Hashmi...baaki ki chinta chhodo.... full review

Thumbs down by Shubhra Gupta, indian express ...watched ‘Mr X’ in the 3 D version, hoping for some diversion. But there was none. Justrelentless awfulness in plot and execution and performance. The specialeffects are justabout allright and even those you’ve seen before.... full review

Thumbs down Indicine ...Conclusion: Mr. X is an all round failure in the story, visual effects and most importantly in the entertainment department. It is confusing on many levels, the science is sketchy and unconvincing. The acting is banal, the dialogues feel better suited for the 1990s and the music is a huge disappointment. The makers could have had a cult classic on their hands if they had taken an unusual route but by turning Mr. X into another masala film they missed something here. Stay invisible from the theaters this week.... full review

Thumbs down by Surabhi Redkar, koimoi ...Mr. X is just another Bhatt film. Driven by love and revenge, this superhero film is least on the superhero quotient and high on drama. This time for a family audience, I am not sure even kids who have now grown up watching Avengers and X Men would like this.... full review

Thumbs down by Shaheen Parkar, MiD DAY ...Bhatt’s recent outings have been in the genre of supernatural and 3D horror. This time, in his tech endeavour to create an invisible man, he appears to have overlooked the storyline. Wish he had paid attention to other details as well.... full review

Thumbs down by Joginder Tuteja, Movie Talkies ...Eventually, Mr. X could well have been a different film since the one that plays on screen is not what had been bargained for.... full review

Thumbs down by Divya Solgama, MoviezADDA ...Dum??? Well, 'Mr.X' had a great opportunity of becoming a kid loving franchise film like 'Krissh', but ends up being a decent trashy product due to its weak screenplay and lethargic direction. It's not a bad watch, but it's not worth a watch either. Despite of having everything needed for such type of film, it lacks highly on the 'X'-factor and for that, one can blame it on the Bhatts radiated by the high influence of Hollywood films.... full review

Thumbs down by Saibal Chatterjee, NDTV ...Take the hint: leave the man alone and steer clear of darkened halls where he is displaying his wares. ... full review

Thumbs down by Raja Sen, Rediff ...Hashmi pops on and off screen with gimmicky background score flashes, and his invisibility is absolute, without any gradations or gradual dimming, as if the digital effects guys were given ten bucks and shown the eraser tool. ... full review

Thumbs down by Sonia Chopra, Sify Movies ...But the central flaw with the film is Mr. X himself who never piques our interest and is as hollow inside as he is on the outside. Steer clear.... full review

So-So by Somdatta Sen, Star Blockbuster ...A one-time watch for the actor and his kissing skills in invisibility. ... full review

Thumbs down by ANUJ KUMAR, The Hindu ... It has its moments but Mr. X lacks the drive to scale new heights.... full review

So-So by Mohar Basu, Times of India ...Despite flaws, in its 133 minutes of runtime, Bhatt churns out a quasi-gratifying film, which has all the necessary commercial ingredients - from romance to good music to thunderous action sequences... full review

So-So by Ritika Handoo, ZEENEWS.COM ...Mr X can take you back to your Mr India days, but only for the similarity between their film titles—if only criminals could be killed by going invisible! Book your tickets for Emraan Hashmi ala 3D style!... full review
