Satya 2 - Preview

quick review:

No steam whatsoever. A decent idea squandered by execution that just bores you.

I watched Satya again and liked it even better than I liked it the first time. It is amazing how a sullen-faced, almost cruel Satya gets you to care about him. Story-wise too, there are many situations that are treated very differently from the norm.

Even since Satya, there are very few Hindi gang-war films that have done justice to the genre. The romance track too had genuine chemistry, that too despite Urmila Matondkar.

The point of reviewing Satya while talking about expectations from Satya 2 is that there ought to be many, but the turn of events in Ram Gopal Verma's career has been such that you just hope he doesn't damage Satya with Satya 2.

The weird pauses that Satya 2's Satya (Punit Singh Ratn) takes in the middle of a sentence for supposed effect are already a put off. I will sorely miss Kallu mama, but then again maybe its a good thing he can't come back, lest that character is tinkered with.

That's what it is then. A hope against hope that Satya is left alone and the background score isn't as ridiculous. Ok, let me not get too wishful here.
