Good to have you back... Hope you have had a nice Diwali!!!! My twopence what its worth:
For in so many years I got a houseful sign at the London cinema (60 miles from where I live) for the 10:00 PM, 10:20 PM and 11:20 PM shows on a Wednesday night!!!! Considering the fact that it was a working day next day didnt seem to deter a lot of people... Mrs G was one of those and we drove a further 10 miles to finally make it in nick of time to get the tkts for a 11:20 PM show!!! Thank God...
This kind of proves that SRK got his mktg strategy right! However, I think people are dissing this film only because of excessive mktg! Believe it or not I had told my wife the exact story after watching the Dildaara song video and cud easily predict while watching the movie the entry of the main protagonist G-one!!! These are moments in the movie that cud have potentially shocked viewers but the endless loop of mktg cycle ensured that keen observers were able to second guess the makers intentions.
Also, I reckon that the movie suffers from a too many opinions on board mentality! It is clearly not one man's vision and work rather its a mixed bag of different people trying to put in all the elements that will appeal.
Having said all of that, I will stick my neck out and say that I slept on Thursday morning at 5:00 AM and went to work at 8:00AM... I didnt mind that at all... What an effort to bring stuff like this on Hindi cinema's screen!!! 3 on 5 just for the effort... It doesnt look tacky and yeah hopefully the makers learn from their mistakes and give us a sequel worthy to remember!

I watched Ra.One just to appreciate the hard work put by SRK in the movie. That said, the movie is a huge disappointment. To say that Ra.One didn't realize its full potential will be an under statement. I would blame the director for making such a mess with all resources at his disposal. And SRK, if you are reading this, please stop adding pervert jokes in your movies. It is no longer funny.

I have had 11 wall posts about Ra one and 8 of them are negative with 2 positve praising only the special effects.The fil is not working among teens and young adults too.
As for the kids my friend took his younger sister to see Ra one and she hated it too.I think overkill has killed this film

Could have been an engaging Kids movie, if SRK had refrained from 9 crotch, 3 breast, 6 "Oh Fish", 1 booty references, a gay flight security personnel & the host of other innuendoes, all for the sake of cheap comic relief. Adding a bit of clothing to the Chamak Challo "kamasutrasque" backup dancers would have added grace to a peppy song. People expect more from a star of SRKs stature.
With 4 scriptwriters, not an original sequence(except Chamak Challo), HART from Ironman, Video game premise from Spy Kids, Train sequence, ending fall at the car fight scene from Spider man. The parallel with Raavan was the only thing not done before. Even Rajni sequence ended abruptly, why couldn't he have transferred some data/power to G.One?
There is a lot I liked in the movie, esp. the action, SFX sequences, production values etc. Arjun did a fair job in his time, looking meaning & Bebo put in a decent effort, esp. in the menacing part. SRK was controlled, except his Tamil stint was horribly wrong.
A little cleaning up, more originality in the story & 30 mins less would have made it a classic.

Ra-one----must watch it...best of all movies..
