Karthik Calling Karthik - 22 yays, 8 nays, 17 okays

Wogma Review

A relaxed pace is used to get into details of the protagonist's relationship with his lover and himself. Unfortunately, they forget that they are supposed to maintain the depth because of which the same pace now seems sluggish.

However, the twist is indeed worth the time because it's not 100% predictable. If nothing else Farhan Akhtar's ace performance is something you will relish for quite a while.

Hi Meetu,

Just wanted to thank you for all the reviews in your site. I have been a regular but silent reader for the last few months. I live in the US and I always check your reviews before deciding to see a film.

WTF? That is a confusing verdict for a movie which has a direction of 3.

Hi Meetu,

I'm one of your biggest admirers and read each one of your reviews every week. Even if I don't plan to see a movie, I still read your review for the sheer pleasure of sharing your perspective.

I thought that in this particular instance, you really did give the movie away. You have exposed quite a few elements of the plot. Since it's a Farhan Akhtar movie, I'll still see it.

But I wanted to know if you intentionally gave a bit of the movie away, or if it just turned out like that.

And yes, thanks a trillion for all your work. You must be having far more admirers than you imagine.

Completely agree with your rating on this one!
The only reason this should be seen on the big screen is for Farhan's acting.
The movie in general in quite gray and slow (usual for Farhan's movies)
The movie wasnt gripping at all and I ddint come out of the theatre talking about the movie (which I usually do!) or actually didnt even give the movie a second thought.

should have waited for the DVD release. (I can hear meetu say, 'I told you so!')

Hi Meetu,
I always read your reviews before deciding to watch a movie. There is just way too much crap being churned out these days. Thank you for watching all the stuff I can't be bothered with :-) I still read your reviews because when your mean, you can be very mean.
My favourite bit is the notepad section, which I always read before watching movie - spoilers or not. It gives me things to look out for when I am watching.
Loved your thoughts on KCK, and agree with you especially on Farhan.
Keep up your good work.

@sunny Thank you. This kind of feedback always means a lot. :)

@dffdf didn't get you? sorry, can you tell me what's confusing?

@Anand I haven't given away anything more than the trailers. Believe me, there's a lot more going on in the film than what is mentioned here. Thank you!!!

@seema no-no. you need to make your own mistakes and learn out of them :P

@Geet Thank you!! at your service now and hopefully always.

A lot of my friends, infact all of my friends except one, were disappointed with the movie. They thought it was obvious. But like you said, it was not 100% obvious the way it happened!

I would agree with your ratings on almost all aspects, and I think it was a good movie simply made. The song has become an earworm for many :)

However, I do not quite think the actors deserved a good rating. Farhan was better than his acts in 'Lucky (or a movie like that)', and Deepika was just about mediocre. Had there been actors with a little more life, they would have rightly deserved 4 out of 5. So there I think you over-rated them to 4.5... but its your review, and your point of view :)

Overall, it was a pretty decent watch, at least for me in a theater.

meetu:

@Aditto Hey! The movie was certainly above average. I loved Farhan Akhtar's acting, the smart-Alec Karthik must have been easy for him, but the timid one must have taken its toll. And there are some things that Deepika does really well, not all the time necessarily.

A very well written review, both Farhan and Deepika were great in their previous movie roles. I would like to watch the movie at least once for the two great actors.
