So-So by Subhash K. Jha, Apun Ka Choice ...Tragically, the sharp dialogues are often unsupported by the screenplay that gets borderline implausible towards the end before veering sharply away from disaster with a well-staged climactic shootout.... full review

Thumbs down by Bobby Sing, Bobby Talks Cinema.com ...However as an ending note I would particularly like to ask Richa Chadda, the one question which is probably put to every single artist promoting his or her film in their promotional interviews that “What really made you sign this film and say yes?” And to make it specific, the question here is not being asked in a positive tone at all.... full review

Thumbs down Bollywood Hungama ...The film suffers in the editing department (Manish Jaitly) and so does the cinematography (Dani Sanchez Lopez). The film's screenplay (Shailesh Pratap Singh, Bharat Ratan) is very average, while action sequences (Kaushal & Moses) seem very stereotyped and bring nothing new to the table. All in all, TAMANCHEY is an average fare.... full review

Thumbs up by Subramanian Harikumar, Bollywood Life ...Tamanchey is an enjoyable affair with crackling chemistry between the leads amidst the bloodshed and bullets, which keeps you entertained till the end.... full review

Thumbs down by Teena Elizabeth, BookmyShow ...One possible reason, you are a hardcore Bollywood fan and don’t miss any of the releases, irrespective of the fact they are good or bad. Secondly, you enjoy a romantic drama set against the backdrop of guns and goons. Thirdly, Richa Chadda is your favorite actress. Finally, you have nothing interesting to do over the weekend. If all these reasons qualify, then Tamanchey is your watch for this week.... full review

So-So Daily Bhaskar ...The film has many loopholes, and some parts are hard to digest. But Tamanchey still qualifies for a one time watch. If you are expecting glamour of Bang Bang or class of Haider, then please plan something else for the week. But if you are a fan of crime capers, which are strange yet entertaining, then book the tickets for Tamanchey... full review

Thumbs down by Kusumita Das, Deccan Chronicle ...Navneet Behal, the director, in this directionless story, makes a weak attempt to raise uneasy questions about a convict’s dilemma but he only manages to crowd the plot with too many things. Just a little over 100 minutes, Tamanchey feels eternal. And this reviewer cannot get over the Rang De Basanti-esque ending. To blatantly copy the treatment of such a vital scene from a cult film, makes this film, in my opinion, absolutely unforgivable.... full review

Thumbs down by Inspector VIjay, Desi Martini ...Under 2 hours but feels like a lifetime...go figure!... full review

Thumbs down by Harshada Rege, DNA ...The movie credit include Navneet Behal as the visual director, Deepti Nangia is the song director, while Suryaveer Singh Bullar is the creative director. Just too many cooks here. The music is forgettable and background score's sometimes jarring. After a week that saw the release of Haider and Bang Bang this is very uninspiring fare.... full review

So-So by Devesh Sharma, Filmfare ...All-in-all, Tamanchey had all the glimmerings of a brilliant film but director Navneet kind of lost the opportunity make a cult film like Gangs Of Wasseypur. However, it’s still a good one time watch just because of the performances…... full review

Thumbs down by Johnson Thomas, Free Press Journal ...There’s a Punjabi rap number that plays out as an accompaniment to a series of bank heists pulled off by the illicit lovers, quite forgettable I must say. The script of the film doesn’t really know whether to go the double-crossing thriller route or the romantic-thriller route and therefore extends the runtime beyond bearable limits. There was ample scope for humour and thrills but the lack of foresight proves to be a debilitating factor here.... full review

Thumbs down by Nupur Barua , fullhyd.com ...Tamanchey can be easily avoided, unless you love watching movies on the criminal underbelly of Delhi. Again, just to remind you, there is nothing new here, but if you have to go for it, then look out for the strange lovemaking scene in the middle of a bank robbery.... full review

Thumbs down by Martin D'Souza, Glamsham.com ...Watching TAMANCHEY gives you a feeling that the script was written on the sets, just like most of our television serials.... full review

Thumbs down by Shubhra Gupta, indian express ...About in scenes, which will lead the audience to draw a sharp breath and say ‘Oh my god, CLEAVAGE’!!! Richa Chaddha, the girl who gave off such promise in ‘Oye Lucky’, and was so striking in ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ well and truly buried, only able to show us weak glimpses of what she can do? ... full review

Thumbs down by Mohar Basu, koimoi ...Tamanchey is soul-less tirade that is almost impossible to sit through. I am a survivor of the two hours of torture which should have had swagger, it doesn’t, should have had wit but it doesn’t and afterall the film should have had thrill which is absolutely absent from it. So what’s left? Yes, it is pretty much 2 hours of drudgery you should save yourself from. I am going with 1/5.... full review

Thumbs down by Shubha Shetty Saha, MiD DAY ...the execution (director Navneet Behal) is terribly sketchy and immature. To her credit, Richa Chadda tries making sense of this senseless movie and even manages to look believable at points. Nikhil Dwivedi disappoints as he seems to walk through the role cluelessly, and he urgently needs some voice modulation classes. Damandeep Sidhu as the supposedly vicious but actually moronic villain, is not bad and, in fact, shows promise. ... full review

Thumbs down MoviezADDA ...Tamanchey is like any average hate turned love story which fails to keep you hooked on to your seats till the end of the movie. The plot is repetitive, and the dialogues seem forced and it dosen't really give you a run for your money!... full review

Thumbs down by Saibal Chatterjee, NDTV ...Nikhil Dwivedi’s wily underdog hero suffers pretty much the same fate. The role simply isn’t written well enough to be a redeeming factor. It is easy to see that theatre actor Damandeep Singh Siddhu is a confident and competent performer. But those two attributes are wasted here. ... full review

Thumbs down by Mansha Rastogi, Now Running.com ...As they say, not every film is Gangs Of Wasseypur but this one doesn't make it to a worthy watch list too. A complete waste of time... full review

Thumbs down by Sonia Chopra, Sify Movies ...The film, directed by Navneet Behal, gives the viewer nothing new. One wonders the purpose of making a crime film (we recently saw Desi Kattey, again titled after guns), that the viewer has seen a hundred times already. Curious, really!... full review

Thumbs down by Moumita Bhattacharjee, Star Blockbuster ...Last Word: Tamanchey misfires royally!... full review

So-So by Meena Iyer, Times of India ...One star in the rating is reserved solely for the livewire, Richa Chadha. Like in Fukrey, in Tamanchey too, she gets her bindaas, badass girl act pat. ... full review
