Mere Brother Ki Dulhan - Wogma Readers Reviews

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan

wogma rating: Watch when on TV (?)
quick review: Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a fun but an unengaging romantic comedy. A lto of the dialogues are enjoyable but the overall story has nothing endearing about it, neither is it a story that keeps me glued to know what happens next. But Katrina Kaif shines and how!

Dattaprasad Godbole:

Aaah... reading the review is such a relief.

1. Katrina got a role which suits her.
2. You too found Ali Zafar annoying.

and about the audio review, ek farmayish hai... Please sneak in some hindi here and there, pura ka pura english review kucch zyada hi formal lagta hai.

Rema Anand:

For once, I do not agree with meetu. The movie is watchable not due to katrina, but despite katrina!! Ali Zafar is adequate - it is katrina who is annoying esp in the first half. Her laboured efforts at portraying the wild personality with free spirit gets on to yr nerves!! Shrieks galore and bad diction is not what I would call acting!! And the character is that of a 27 yr old , not 17 yrs - to shriek all thru delhi roads.. the character sketch could have been toned down. She was bearable in the second half.
The movie has its engaging moments ; but with someone other than katrina, it would've been better.

Rachit Gupta:

Actually for the first time I think Katrina has performed to her remit. Shades of Kareena in Jab We Met (but i guess thats the chracter they wanted to portray)... And imho I think Ali Zaffar was good in his role. He has brilliant screen presence and is an eye candy for sure... For me surprisingly the weak link in the movie was Imran Khan!!! Expected much better from him. His efforts in this movie kind of proved that he still has a lot of ground to cover as far as catching up with Ranbir Kapoor is concerned... And yeah i doubt the movie would have been as enjoyable without Katrina... Loved the songs and their picturisation!!!

barbie:

it is a veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyinteresting movie

SocialDhaba:

Predictable storyline, mediocre performances and weak direction totally lets down a film that had a lot of expectations slung to it, coming from one of the biggest banners of the Hindi Film Industry, Yash Raj Films. ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ though starts on a very promising note remains to be an average rom com that is just a once watch.

meetu:

@Dattaprasad @Rema @Rachit all three comments together are such an interesting read. different strokes for different folks :D

hotels in delhi:

movie is really nice i like the story and the new look of katrina.

Aliya Batool:

SO HAPPY BY THE FILM ALI IS LOOKING OWSUM ND LIKE HIM ALOT
IMRAN ND KATRINA ARE ALSO QUITE GOOD

Aaryan:

many people saying this not good but as far as i'm concerned I lovde the movie and star cast too.
i was keen to watch Ali Zafar acting again after Tere bin laden. I like his music very much like his songs in Album jhoom.
I also loveed the song he sang in movie Madhushala.

Mansi:

Even before you've seen MBKD, you know you can expect only so much from a film like this. A YRF film, after all, is supposed to be enjoyed like a YRF film. Just like you can't imagine Amir doing a Chulbul Panday and/or Shahrukh doing a Ghajini, it's only feckless to expect serious highbrow cinema from a YRF banner.

Yes, it's got cliched characters (very!) and the most predictable plot, but MBKD still makes for a fun film. (If critics are liberal enough to shower a 4 on 5 stars to a film like Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani, this one, surely, deserves lot more love).
