Thumbs up by Anna MM Vetticad, annavetticadgoes2themovies ...Besides being fun, this is a sensible film. It’s non-judgmental towards Nirmala Rathore despite her harshness. The humour is never raucous and often used to convey an important point: note Milli’s response to Nirmala’s confusion on discovering that Ms Chakravarty considers herself a Punjabi. Except for some rough patches I’ve already grumbled about, this is a well-told story. There you go Sajid Khan, frothy does not have to mean foolish. Khoobsurat is proof of that.... full review

Thumbs up by Subhash K. Jha, Apun Ka Choice ...Hrishida won't recognise this as his "Khubsoorat". But he won't disapprove of what has been done to his work.... full review

So-So by Bobby Sing, Bobby Talks ...Summing up, this first presentation of Disney does have a routine, predictable script having few major drops too. However its young and lively feel, accompanied by some crisp editing, good performances and an innovative background score cover up its minuses well and result in a fairly enjoyable, clean family entertainer respectfully living up to the reputation earned by its title. So you can easily give it a preference over the other releases this Friday as per my opinion.... full review

So-So Bollywood Hungama ...Overall, KHOOBSURAT is likeable in parts with good performances and stunning visuals; however the weak script is an 'ugly' hurdle this film will face at the box-office.... full review

Thumbs up by Srishti Dixit, Bollywood Life ...Khoobsurat is entertaining, fun and paisa-vasool. If you have been wondering “what’s all the fuss about Fawad Khan?”, don’t miss this one!... full review

So-So by Tanaya Ramyani, BookmyShow ...Khoobsurat is an entertaining and fun film. Though it might not measure up to the standards of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s classic, this fairytale might charm you. It’s not always that we get to see a vivacious princess in Bollywood.... full review

Thumbs down cinemaah ...Except for Fawad Khan who looks nonplussed at all times (which he probably was), not one over-acting performer seems to have asked the director just what they were doing and why; if Sonam Kapoor had asked, perhaps she would have toned down her irritatingly loud character, and Kirron Kher would have turned down the role.... full review

So-So Daily Bhaskar ...You can’t completely write-off the film, it’s a one time watch if you have nothing to do this weekend. In fact, Kirron Kher, despite her repetitive acting, is still very entertaining throughout the film. Presence of Fawad Khan will definetly drag her female fans to the theater. Rest, Sonam Kapoor's fans will get what they expect from her.... full review

So-So by Kusumita Das, Deccan Chronicle ...Watch the film, resist the urge to compare and you will come out smiling.... full review

So-So by Smita Vyas Kumar, Desi Martini ...This is not a remake of the original Khubsoorat. If you go with this precondition this is an ok watch. Better for teens than adults... full review

So-So by Inspector VIjay, Desi Martini ...Half-baked fairy tale that leaves you yawning!... full review

So-So by Sarita A Tanwar, DNA ...Khoobsurat is sure to connect with the hearts of girls of all ages.... full review

Thumbs up by Rachit Gupta, Filmfare ...Director Shashank Ghosh is no Hrishikesh Mukherjee. But he's managed to make a perfect Disney movie. It makes you laugh. It makes you go "aww" and that goes a long way in a young romance. It's definitely not as good as the original. But it's perfectly in tune with the times.... full review

Thumbs up by Deepanjana Pal , FirstPost ...For the second time in months, Bollywood has turned the tables to great effect by making a hero play the part that was traditionally reserved for women. We heartily approve. As heroines have argued over the years, it isn't demeaning to be an important and beautiful prop when the character is written and performed well. With actors like Khan in the mix, there may yet be hope for the Indian romantic comedy.... full review

Thumbs down by Johnson Thomas, Free Press Journal ...There’s no enlivening this uninteresting, feckless, unbelievingly dull exercise in futility. Even Sneha Khanvilkar’s beautiful compositions sound out of sync with what’s happening on screen. There’s no chance of careers being established or made on the strength (or lack of it) of this feeble salvo. Much more would need to be done to accomplish that. This one’s a royal PAIN…no less!... full review

Thumbs up by Kritika Deval , ...Khoobsurat is extremely enjoyable if you know what you're getting going in. If you're expecting anything other than an amalgamation of Beauty And The Beast, The Princess Diaries and every YRF film ever despite having had a look at the poster; well you deserve whatever you're getting.... full review

Thumbs up by Martin D'Souza, ...I was particularly impressed by Fawad, Aamir and Ratna Pathak Shah who give a standout performance. Fawad speaks a lot with his body and eyes in all the scenes. Ditto Ratna, who has to take over the empire after her husband's accident. ... full review

So-So by Anupama Chopra,, Hindustan Times ...I enjoyed Sneha Khanwalkar’s music, especially ‘Engine ki seeti’, and Tushar Kanti Ray’s sumptuous visuals. Sadly, Shashanka displays none of the eccentric creativity that we saw in his earlier films, though he does create moments of charm. - See more at: full review

Thumbs down by Sweta Kaushal, Hindustan Times ...Despite those, we aren't suggeting you should waste time and money on the movie unless you are indifferent to the lack of Sonam's acting skills and an overall lowering of standards for wits and jokes. ... full review

So-So by Rajeev Masand, IBN Live ...There are problems too, particularly a handful of script contrivances that jar. A break-up between a couple that's engaged to be married feels strangely sterile, and the protagonist's way of dealing with heartbreak towards the end of the film feels 'different' for the sake of it. But these are minor quibbles in a film that is inherently sweet. Khoobsurat, then, is a good example of how formula, when done skillfully, doesn't have to be a bad thing.... full review

So-So by Faheem Ruhani, india today ...Khoobsurat is not going to blow you away cinematically but has enough to keep you engaged and entertained for its screen time. Warning: Sonam's unduly multi-coloured, garish wardrobe could distract you. Read more at: full review

Thumbs up by koel Purie, india today ...This is no path breaker but for the fact that I just can't fault it, I still have a smile plastered on my face and I'll probably go see it again... tomorrow,... full review

Thumbs down by Rohit Khilnani , india today ...Looks like Khoobsurat is for the multiplex audience but I'm not sure if today's generation will enjoy a dull show like this one... full review

So-So by Vinayak chakravorty, india today ...The film is elevated by Fawad, Ratna Pathak and a brilliant cameo by Cyrus Sahukar. Kirron Kher could have avoided rehashing her hyper Punjabi mom from Dostana (she plays Mili's mother). And a little more chemistry between Mili and Vikram would have been nice. ... full review

So-So by Shubhra Gupta, indian express ...Khubsoorat’ is bubblegum-y and air-headed and good-natured, and its biggest strength is that it keeps it consistent, becoming one of those films that over-delivers precisely because it under-promises.... full review

So-So Indicine ...If you&'re in the mood for some harmless entertainment and if you don't mind watching a Sonam Kapoor film then Khoobsurat will be a tolerable watch for you. It's not ground-breaking or jaw-dropping cinema but it serves its purpose. Don't expect a lot if you do decide to go watch it, and you will not be disappointed.... full review

So-So by Mohar Basu, koimoi ...Khoobsurat isn’t for people who don’t have the appetite for romantic comedies or who aren’t fairytale believers. They will go with incorrect expectations and come back disappointed on grounds of it being unrealistic primarily. I did not mind the lack of novelty because it was afterall a well executed film. Fawad Khan as Prince Charming is the show stealer here and he makes his chemistry with Sonam look fantastic! Bubbling with energy, breezy and beautiful, this film is a good enough, passably enjoyable one time watch.... full review

Thumbs down by Sanjukta Sharma, Live Mint ...Shashanka Ghosh’s Khoosurat is an all-round disaster. It reminds me all over again how confident a film-maker Hrishikesh Mukherjee was, and how sympathetic he was to his characters... full review

So-So by Shubha Shetty Saha, MiD DAY ...Director Shashanka Ghosh does a decent job of presenting a fantasy tale, but wish it offered a little more than what was expected from this film even before entering the theatre. Fairy tales are fantasies served with candyfloss. 'Khoobsurat' aims to be just that, only it is less creative fantasy and dripping more of sugary syrup. Watch it once if you love rom-coms or better still, if you are a Fawad Khan fan... full review

Thumbs up by Joginder Tuteja, Movie Talkies ...Watch it with a bunch of friends, especially with girls, and you would have a good time for sure. ... full review

Thumbs up by Divya Solgama, MoviezADDA ...Dum?, Well the movie is a decent fun loving one time candy floss entertainer, catering the teens and family audiences. It cannot be compared with the original classic hit film 'Khubsoorat' as the whole storyline has been majorly changed. It's a clean family entertainer with a Cinderella or meeting the Prince charming type of concept attached to it, due to which the movie ends up being another 'Disney' type of fairy tale type of love story, which in case of 'Khoobsurat' could be termed as desi tale of a 'Disney' beauty.... full review

Thumbs up by Saibal Chatterjee, NDTV ...In the end, Khoobsurat is a pretty good show. It is both funny and flashy, but its many flourishes are delivered in measures that religiously avoid excess. ... full review

So-So by Noyon Jyoti Parasara , Now ...Khoobsurat is not a bad film. You could enjoy it if you have nothing better to do. The happily-ever-after endings usually make for a pleasant watch. Also, you really can't expect something completely out of the box from a remake of a classic. Do not go expecting something completely unseen. Khoobsurat is contemporised for today's generation and it has a chick-flick written all over it.... full review

So-So by Raja Sen, Rediff ...Yet his Khubsoorat was always meant to be a lozenge -- and, when unwrapping candy, it's always best to know what we're in for.... full review

So-So by Sonia Chopra, Sify Movies ...This film has little of the gentle nuance of the Hrishikesh Mukherjee-directed original, but it's still pretty good fun. This Bollywood-Disney fairytale combo is worth a shot!... full review

So-So by Rhea Shrivastav, STARDUST ...In the end Khoobsurat is definitely not unwatchable... full review

So-So by ANUJ KUMAR, The Hindu ...In a tribute to Mukherjee’s film, Ghosh has named Milli’s mother as Manju, the central character of Mukherjee’s film and ensures that people get to know this link by making Milli address her mother by her first name. It sounds more forced than funny. And the rigid Nirmala played by Dina Pathak in the original is replaced by Ratna Pathak Shah. As the snobbish matriarch of the palace, who doesn’t approve of the loud gestures of Milli, Shah just has to repeat her Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai act and she does it with unmistakable flair. But it is Kiron Kher, repeating herself as the stereotypical Punjabi mother, who salvages the sagging screenplay by injecting freshness to the proceedings with her effortless delivery of Juhi Chaturvedi’s punchlines. She brings the house down when she questions the royalty’s fondness to address itself as ‘we’. Once again it is Manju who saves the day!... full review

Thumbs up by Srijana Mitra Das,, Times of India ...An underdone kidnapping and overdone Bengali-ness - 'Prawteek', meet 'Mawnju' - slightly distract. However, for the most part, this delightfully roguish romance tickles everything fun-loving inside you.... full review

So-So by Ritika Handoo, ZEENEWS.COM ...The movie is filled with many fun moments and does not compel you to be prepared for a hard-hitting melodramatic journey. Overall, a light, bright and colourful cinematic experience, with Fawad as an eye-candy, who knows his job to the 't'.... full review
