God Tussi Great Ho
quick review:
The Salman Khan style of 'acting' doesn't allow us to take the otherwise interesting concept, of a human being taking over as God for a few days, too seriously.
This page has additional observations, other than the ones noted in the main review.
Plot Summary
AP (Salman Khan) is completely discontent with the way his life is shaping up and he blames God for his misfortunes. So, God appears and asks him to take over for 10 days and show him how the show is run.
What Worked
Nothing really.
What did not
Note: This section simply lists the things that I did not like in this movie. This
is not the overall impression about this movie. Please read the
full review here
- Salman Khan can’t pronounce "adrashya" which means invisible. And for some reason they want to make sure we know that because he's made to repeat it at least half a dozen times!
- This whole idea of making a woman look so bad that any sort of mediocre makeover will make her look like a princess.
Nitty-Gritty
This section lists things that I think are not important to the overall impact of the movie. In most cases, it could be explained away by something like, "we noticed the glitch after the scene was shot and there were schedule/budget issues and thus we could not re-shoot it". I like giving the makers the benefit of doubt, but I am amused nevertheless. Hopefully, they will tickle you too.
- Alia (Priyanka Chopra) paid Rs.40000 at the hospital with a wad of 100s that didn't look like it had 400 notes.
- How come Alia's number is not saved in Rocky's handset?

request the whole society to Boycott this movie as it will hurt the religious sentiments. It is clear in Islam the GOD is unique nobody in this universe has any right to imitate him on any of the occasion and never dare to do it. It is shame on these actors and director of this movie who have taken God as a just a Character in their movie. If anybody out there belives in God plz boycott this movie.
i watched this crap FDFS! Right out of the bed for the 9am show and they give me this shit. my friend is back from the US and wanted to watch a Hindi, Salu-movie instead of 'Bachna' and i let her do man-maani. my bad, i guess?!
i was sad. the movie was THAT bad. i mean, if you have to steal a script from a Hollywood movie, atleast choose a good movie! Bruce Almighty seemed like a FANTASTIC movie after GTGH! :-o
it almost felt demeaning to put anyone through so much stupidity first thing in the morning! :'( not fair! not fair! not fair! :'(
[...] presents himself, you expect really great things to happen. But, they just don’t…. Meetu [ withoutgivingthemovieaway [...]
Solitary Dreamer, I can feel your frustration through your words, can't imagine what it'd be like sitting beside you in the theater! Deepest condolences!!
Rahmat, each one is entitled to their own religious sentiments and so are you. We shouldn't be imposing our beliefs on others.

oh god such an unbearable film
The film should be ok I feel..
Actually, as a Westerner getting into *masala* for the past year or so, I can say without reservation that GOD TUSSI GREAT HO is the worst Bollywood movie we've seen yet! Salman Khan is at least a decade too old for the character he's playing and unsympathetic to boot (as he so often is - what am I missing that makes this man a star in Indian cinema?), and his kid brother Sohail is unbelievable as a lady-killing rising star (he was much better cast in MAIN AURR MRS. KHANNA as the goofy but good-hearted hustler/loser hitting on Kareena Kapoor) - the movie might have been marginally better if they'd switched roles. The script is like a less-inspired version of BRUCE ALMIGHTY (if that's even possible), and while I'm a sucker for a Krissh shout-out in any context - is the character actually that popular in India, and if so when are we getting KRISSH 2?
Priyanka Chopra is gorgeous and adorable as always, but you wonder why she's friends with Salman Khan's character in the first place, given he hardly seems like a "Mr. Nice Guy" who she might feel safe around. Amitabh Bachchan is superb as God (of course) - like Sean Connery, he's so magnificent as both a performer and a presence that you accept him as any character he cares to play. Anupam Kher does the Anupam Kher role to perfection, thank you.
Honestly - I've loved dozens of *masala*s that most Indian fans have slammed, because I love the songs and dances and the actors and how the same stories we see in the West all the time are changed through a Central Asian sensibility. But GOD TUSSI GREAT HO? Naw, it's a disaster in any culture....
