The Film Emotional Atyachar

wogma rating: Add to 'must watch' list (?)
quick review: Emotional Atyachar is a quirky, dark, humorous, non-linear, connect-the-dots, pulp-type fiction. With performers like Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey, Abhimanyu Singh, Ravi Kissen, it's short, but not-so-sweet fun.

So-So by Baradwaj Rangan, Blogical Conclusion, The New Sunday Express ...the bastard child of two twentieth-century aphorisms – Jean-Luc Godard’s puckish pronouncement that all films must have a beginning, a middle and an end (just not necessarily in that order), and John Lennon’s more sentimental observation that life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans... full review

So-So by Vikram Phukan, Film Impressions ...Ms Koechlin isn’t initially allowed to expand upon her high-kicking majorette-like persona from Dev.D but towards the end, she manages to lace her under-written part with a vicious tanginess as the film hurtles headlong towards a climax.... full review

Makarand:

Meetu

Enjoyed the film. Used to 'inexplicable' stuff in Hindi movies.. I mean after all we have grown on one hero killing 10 hoods with 10 bullets and a 100 goons firing thousands of rounds don't even scratch him...

Held well together I thought.. and very dark.. reminded me of Johnny Gaddar.. Of course that one did not have a 'sweet' ending and it added tremendous value to the movie..

Interesting how nowadays the age old Hindi film maxim of 'crime does not pay' is not applicable nowadays.. changing times i guess.. tempora mutantur, nos et mutamur in illis

meetu:

@Makarand oh wow...that's a surprise. I wouldn't have thought that you'll like the film. I'd recommend Ek Chalis Ki Last Local and Manorama Six Feet under if you haven't seen them yet.

Makarand:

@meetu of course i have seen Ek Chalis and Manorama. Have seen ALL Abhay deol except Aisha.. your review on that not too hot so avoiding!

meetu:

@Makarand it's girly and pink, so i'd say good call.
