Plot Summary
A newly married couple returns to a small town from America, and inhabit their family mansion. The mansion has a secret, and strange events are set in motion when the bride unlocks a forbidden room.
What Worked
- The dance sequence just before the climax is good; one gets to see a ‘classical’ dance after ages in a Bollywood film. Vineet is a great dancer and his dancing in tandem with Vidya Balan is thoroughly enjoyable. Pritam for once seems to have composed a tune set to carnatic beats (which in itself is very strange, considering that the movie is set in North India and leads one to conclude that he might have been heavily ‘inspired’), but it is delightful nonetheless

- The entire film barring the climax! It is too loud, too gross, and the script and direction just do not create a world where the strange goings on in the haveli forge a tension which is then resolved at the end, much to the delight and relief of the viewer.

i have just watched it and then i read all these reviews and one thing which i thing director was missing.. a real mangalika demon... casue that would have twisted the movie with another suspence.. but minus that i loved the movie..

The movie is excellent , and the best part is how they have combined psychiatric illness to ghosts , given explanation for each act which leads to it . I think we should appreciate the movie and try to get more postive things out of it .... Everything has a drawback, but the movie is worth watching .....

posted 2 years, 10 months agoI dont agree with the review above. Compared to other Indian movies....this one was really great. it has everything: good songs, good humour, good thriller etc.
The movie is simply amazing!

posted 2 years, 10 months agoTHE FILM IS VERY VERY NICE, ESPECIALLY THE ROLE OF AKSHAY,VIDHHYA AND SHARRAD 'THE POET' IN THE MOVIE. REALLY VERY UNDERSTANDING AND MOTIVATED MOVIE. ALL THE SUPPORTING CHARACTER ARE ALSO MIND BLOWING.

I disagree with some comments which give BB a thumbs down. BB is more intellectual than movies like OSO and holds a sense of realism in it. Just because OSO is stuffed with the glam bam thank you ma'am, it doesn't mean its a great movie. In the end you realize what a sick movie it was overall. I did not take anything out of the theatre from OSO, while BB leaves behind images of classical India (including the climax song) which is so well picturised along with the concept of DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder or Split Personality).
