quick review:

Good performances. Despite desperate attempts to be different, Bewakoofiyaan is only as interesting as the ups and downs of any relationship in trouble.

So-So by Nikhil Kumar, Apun Ka Choice ...Bewakoofiyaan' has writer Habib Faisal’s characteristic wit that’s not of the LOL potency, but leaves you in chuckles at best. With lilting music, easy-on-the-eye cinematography, the film makes for a watchable date flick.... full review

Thumbs down by Bobby Sing, Bobby Talks ...Hence next time you tend to think that Why such directionless films get made OR Who approves such poor songs to be added into the movie’s soundtrack? ... full review

Thumbs up by Taran Adarsh, Bollywood Hungama ... BEWAKOOFIYAAN springs a pleasant surprise. Watch this wonderful slice of life film for the super performances of Rishi, Ayushmann and Sonam, watertight writing, skilled direction and dollops of humor.... full review

So-So by Bhagyashri Pawar, Bollywood Life ... While the new generation is likely to enjoy this movie more, Sonam Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bewakoofiyaan can be watched by anyone with anyone.... full review

Thumbs down by Deepa Gahlot, cinemaah ...The two lead actors are vapid, and as usual it is left to Rishi Kapoor to bring some life into his scenes. No great music to lift the mood either, this one makes a dull date movie... full review

Thumbs down Daily Bhaskar ...Bewakoofiyaan is a break up, patch up saga which entertains and bores in parts. If you are under 30 and have nothing better to do this weekend, Bewakoofiyaan is the film for you.... full review

So-So by Kusumita Das, Deccan Chronicle ...Nupur’s direction is balanced but she lacks the support of a strong lead pair and razor sharp witty lines, which are rom-com staples. The film has no major flaws but it doesn’t have many great moments either. And the end result is as empty as Mohit’s bank balance.... full review

Thumbs down by Mohit Patil, Desi Martini ...Tonally & thematically inconsistent mess. It has absolutely nothing about it that could, at least on some level, engage. Lame stuff.... full review

Thumbs down by Tushar Joshi, DNA ...Bewakoofiyaan had the opportunity to be smarter and funnier, unfortunately it plays it too safe to rise above the ordinary.... full review

Thumbs down by Deepa Deosthalee, Film Impressions ...Again it’s not implausible—perhaps young people do live in a bubble and are ill equipped to cope with real problems. This may well be the film’s central argument. But by failing to develop an engaging narrative or agreeable characters it just seems like a waste of time and money. Theirs and ours.... full review

Thumbs down by Devesh Sharma, Filmfare ...The film doesn’t offer us an escape from reality nor does it warn us against the evils of consumerism. It isn’t even an out-and-out comedy. Its this neither here nor there quality that goes against it and stops you from enjoying it to its true extent.... full review

Thumbs down by Johnson Thomas, Free Press Journal ...A poor copy of the rib-tickling Hollywood rom-coms ‘Father of the Bride’ and ‘Meet the Parents,’ this Nupur Asthana directed medium budget quickie is just not entertaining in the least.... full review

So-So by Martin D'Souza, ...BEWAKOOFIYAAN is a love story that is handled with maturity, and although there are a few 'unbelievable' scenes (like the one where Mohit keeps going to his work place to 'play act' to fool Mayera's dad), the youth will relate to it.... full review

Thumbs down by Anupama Chopra, Hindustan Times ...Director Nupur Asthana and writer Habib Faisal are aiming here to show us how hollow consumerism is. How finally what matters isn’t the four-bedroom apartment, credit cards and designer shoes but relationships, and above all, love.... full review

Thumbs down by Rajeev Masand, IBN Live ...Despite three likeable actors in principal roles, 'Bewakoofiyaan' feels lightweight instead of lighthearted. Asthana directs with an easy hand, but she's saddled with a dead duck of a script that simply can't be saved. I'm going with two out of five. ... full review

So-So by Mohar Basu, koimoi ...Bewakoofiyaan is a well crafted film that misses the rightful rendering. A meandering screenplay turns it bland and messy but for Rishi Kapoor’s catchy role it is worth giving a shot to... full review

Thumbs down by Shubha Shetty-Saha, MiD DAY ...This plain vanilla film is easily forgettable.... full review

So-So by Joginder Tuteja, Movie Talkies ...the second half turns out to be better and though there still aren't any full throated laughter, (director) Nupur Asthana and (writer) Habib Faisal make sure that the pace of the film brings on good momentum. While Ayushmann and Sonam do well, it is fun to see Rishi Kapoor take charge of affairs, both as an actor as well as the character.... full review

So-So by Divya Solgama, MoviezADDA ...comparison to Yash Raj banners romantic comedies, this one is a decent family entertainer with a good message attached to it. Thumbs down by Rahul Desai, Mumbai Mirror ...Bewakoofiyaan isn't Nupur Asthana's best effort (out of two), but I'm still going to look forward to her next. All she needs is an ambitious screenplay and a voice—perhaps her own? ... full review
