Sad to read a review like this for a film that is almost a perfect treat for family audience on Diwali.
Anyways, looking forward to your reviews on Blue and Main aur Mrs.Khanna. :-)
B. H. Harsh - treat for family? really? Somehow the innuendos and the whole theme of exchanged partners didn't entertain me. THe other reviews are out, they are reviewed by my guest reviewers.
Thanks and Happy Diwali!!!
Apart from Rajeev Masand, You are one reviewer who doesn't really appreciate this entire "leave-your-brains" genre AT ALL. (noticed that almost always)
You both are quite similar in your approach. but this time, even he gave it a thumbs up. So was expecting (and hoping) you too to be a li'l casual. Was wrong in doing that, may be...
Anyways, Happy Diwali to u too.. :-)
Really felt like watching dekh bhai dekh. I could even see glimpses of tactics used by soaps to kill time. Like ppl asking others how they are, and they replying that they're fine! Duh! Not that i've not enjoyed mindless comedies. I liked golmaal and singh is king, but this was nowhere near a good entertaining movie. By the way, what concerns me more is the lack of screenplay in major movies nowadays. Seems blue has spent 100 cr, but couldn't shell 1 cr for a half baked story? And this on one of the most important cinema weekends in the country!
I thought it was much better than Golmaal series.. This is one film of Rohit Shetty that I have liked. One of the decent comedy films of recent past at least.
Not bad at all. Infact the best of the three Diwali releases.
Hello from Russia!
Can I quote a post in your blog with the link to you?
i have two words for meetu :
screw you !
two more words
f**k u !!
@Meetu: I completely agree with the review. I HATED the movie!
I fail to understand how so many people seemed to like it? I agree the movie is very colorful and vibrant, but the story makes absolutely no sense. Not even "leave-your-brain-at-home" type stuff.
Bollywood seems to have lost its sense of humor. Its a smack on the industry that has churned out some classics like "Andaaz apna apna", "Sholay", "Gol Maal (Amol Palekar)".
Anyone who appreciates good quality comedy or has a good sense of humor will hate this movie.
@B H Harsh you got that right. i really dont understand the entire genre. Also the thing is in this genre the gags are getting repetitive...
@Pondy yeah. the status to writing in mainstream Hindi films makes me cry sometimes...out of pain and frustration
@polprav sure!
@Ashok andho mein kaana raja types?
@PG Thank you! I hope so too...
meetu shdnt be allowed to review comedy flicks...
dimmag ka dahi bana diya with her stupid review....the movie just turned out to be 'class' with original comedy lines, nicely meshed in characters and a funny fast paced screenplay ....if u get the pacing right with a comedy n it doent feel like its dragging, then u deserve a pat on your back...
great work rohit shetty,,,will look fwd to more from ur stable...
and guys the trailer just doesnt do justice to the fun element of the movie...
Meetu, I check your review mainly for the Parental Guidance and your reviews are pretty good. But I must say that either you are too modern or have no family values at all!!For PAA, Your parental Guidance says none in Language except the word Bastard. Did you go out when there was talk about Sperm donation, Condom Use etc. and sexual content, you say NONE when there is a real brief love making scene in the song Muddi Muddi. What nonsense!! I will never ever read your reviews and post this on all your reviews so that everyone is aware. I took my 10 and 7 yr old daughters to see Paa based on your Parental Guidance and I m still shocked and embarassed to show them a film about Sex education!!
Good review for this movie :D
only rohit shetty movie i liked
