Idlebrain.com jeevi say: Jail movie is a slow-paced one with boring moments most of the time. It is neither a commercial subject, nor an artistic film. However, the last 15 minutes of the movie is better. There are two types of Jail films. One is of commercial type where Jail break happens. This kind of film provides thrill. The other one the type where they show the journey and experiences of jail inmates. There will be lot of heart-touching content and these kind of films have human triumph towards the climax. Only film that managed both thrill and human triumph is 'The Shawshank Redemption'. Madhur Bhandarkar's JAIL does neither give you thrill not touches your heart. A slight disappointment from Madhur Bhandarkar.

Fully agree with Meetu. While i initially felt cheated that the characters were very "on the surface" which did not let me form deeper relationships with any (except Neil), I realised that the main character itself was the jail. Well-made. To the point. Gets the message across. Leaves you with an eerie feeling.

What I feel after watching Jail is that Madhur was in a hurry to put Neil in jail...and was determined to keep him there...thts why such a dumb lawyer...what the new lawyer said at the end of the movie could easily be said by the first lawyer..and the video thing wasnt foolproof..what if Neil has collected te Bag after leaving frm office..so wht i meant to say is tht Madhur has taken us to granted tht we just want to see wht happens in Jail and whtever back story is tere..we wont mind...Jail parts were fine..i liked those characters...Manoj Bajpayee was a bit irritating though because of his close up shots and the time he took for the dialogue delivery...Neil did a wonderful job...Arya Babbar was fantastic...but i would suggest dont go for it(and i say tht for very few movies)...u will feel cheated..wait for it to be aired on TV..rest depends on u..and i might be late in this review..very few people watch movies in theatre in the second week now...

"Jail" may not be a "Fashion" or "Azab prem ki..." but it is a must watch. This kind of film just comes once in a while in a year. Neil Nitin Mukesh have made Parag Dixit unforgettable! The best performance so far. but I hate that lawyer its so scary that this kind of lawyer actually exists in our system who take 1-1.5 Lakh/hearing and do nothing !!

Jail has depicted a true picture, i hope!!

The film in its entirety leaves a believable impact on you, though not strong an impact as Fashion, or Chandni Bar has left on you.

The lawyer was too dumb, the characters were too plain, but the total sum total was good, thats what I felt.

Meetu, I check your review mainly for the Parental Guidance and your reviews are pretty good. But I must say that either you are too modern or have no family values at all!!For PAA, Your parental Guidance says none in Language except the word Bastard. Did you go out when there was talk about Sperm donation, Condom Use etc. and sexual content, you say NONE when there is a real brief love making scene in the song Muddi Muddi. What nonsense!! I will never ever read your reviews and post this on all your reviews so that everyone is aware. I took my 10 and 7 yr old daughters to see Paa based on your Parental Guidance and I m still shocked and embarassed to show them a film about Sex education!!
