About a month ago I heard that I got into the crash course on Film Appreciation conducted by National Film Archives of India (NFAI) - Yay! NFAI conducts this month-long course which starts on May 21, 2007 in collaboration with The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). I feel privileged just to be in the same campus where Shabana Azmi, Naseeruddin Shah, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, to name a few, spent their learning days!!. Especially, since this is as good as a residential course. - Am so excited!!!
Okay, before I irritate the hell out of you with my exclamation marks, here’s what I really want to say. Since I am not sure whether I will be able to post here in the next four weeks and will be back only on the 16th of June, I have invited a couple guest bloggers to write hindi movie related articles for “Without Giving The Movie Away”. Meanwhile, I will also try my best to write about my experiences during the course.
Here’s to a “new and improved” meetu! Cheers!!
Update: I’ve posted my experiences about the course in a series of posts. The first part describes the overall experiences. The second one deals with the selection of movies, which ones I liked and the few I did not. The third part discusses the lectures.

Hi vishal,
You have to fill in an application form and submit it to the institute. The process starts around February-March each year. More details at http://www.nfaipune.gov.in/film_appreciation.htm If you have any more questions, let me know, I will try my best to answer.
Hey,
I was actually interested in joining the discussed course.
How was it..? Is it worth the money..?
I am actually a student of mass communication and I hope the course is beyond basic stuff.
Is it full time..?
Hey Roshan, overall the course was good. The technical stuff that they taught was pretty basic. Since, I am new to all of this, I enjoyed learning the basics.
It is a full-time course for 4 weeks.
