  • Shagird: Thumbs up: Decent crime caper with coruupt cops and politicians.
  • The Murder of Roger Ackroyd: Thumbs up:
  • 7 khoon maaf: So-So: Not satisfactory, drags a bit towards the end. Strong performances, especially liked Annu Kapoor.

  • Count down to being 5 - Part 2!:

hey is it also OK to write a post on unreleased posts?... I have an unpublished post on my expectations about Spielberg's upcoming Tintin movie...

was actually looking for Saheb Biwi & Gangster review... there seems to be no mention of it in the site...

  • That Girl In Yellow Boots:

A good film and as usual this AK film also gives us some delightful new actors in the supporting roles....

As films with women protagonists are rare, it was a refreshing experience. Although the shock part is relative, especially for a Kashyap film, taboo topics no longer shocking.

I found Nasir's character to be a bit unconvincing. His reaction on learning what Ruth does for a living is hard to believe... as a regular customer he never guessed it??

  • Singham:

It sucked... dunno why people are calling it a good actioner when there is no action in the climax...

Besides, the tone is not consistent and the jokes and the serious part do not gel...

I am not a Dabangg fan either, but at least it was consistent in tone throughout the film...

Also, I'm sick of these comical action sequences with incompetent CGI... if you are making an action film, please take action seriously... forget slo-mos & gimme sunny deol of yore anyday...

  • Shagird:

I liked it. Nothing particualrly new and towards the end drags a bit too much with repeated twists. But still worth a watch for Nana alone. His cinephile persona and obvious Himesh bashing was worth the money.

  • The Murder of Roger Ackroyd:

David Suchet is the definitive Poirot... AFter watching almost all of his works I tried watching an older film with another actor as Poirot but couldn't finish that...

It is true that the makers of this series makes certain changes in teh original storyline but nevetheless, meticulous attention to period details and excellent production values make it one of teh best serieses ever.... Personally I even like the recurring side characters like Hastings, Inspector Japp & Ms Lemon...

What do you think of the scenes in the end credits?...People stopped at teh stairs and watched those scenes for a last twist that never came...

I enjoyed it for whatever it is...:D
I understand not everyone is going 2 like it...
call it guilty pleasure or whatever I enjoy RGV style loudness...especially when he treats crime & politics...

Only if the voice over was avoided...!

ya...Mississippi Burning is the buzz...although we'll know the extent of "influence" only after watching it...:D

  • Aakrosh:

I want 2 watch this film simply because it deals with that issue...just like the powerless common men enjoyed the corrupt getting beaten up in the 70s & 80s, I'm going 2 enjoy those bigots getting beaten up...

but as u know...it again has originality issues plotwise...it'll dilute the impact...

I don't care about the music in such a film & it'll be better if the songs flop & get edited out....

wow...thts quite a positive review...far more than my expectations...I'm still apprehensive of the very premise but think it shud be given a try...

  • Peepli Live:

@cinefreak...firstly u r assuming that no one else has seen Pather Pachali here...secondly you are comparing entirely different genres...PP, mathribhumi, HKA were not satires...Peepli is...there is no point in comparing them...

accusation to Roy is a very old story, & in fact an ignorant one considering the fact that most of his films dealt with the middle class rather than the poor...

  • Peepli Live:

It is a satire & I think it shold be taken that way...no its not going 2 change anything, a mere film doesn't change anything...it'll take a complete overhaul of our society & system...but that shouldn't be a reason for blaming this film...

  • Once Upon A Time In Mumbai:

the dialogues do become funny at times...especially when the ACP delivers back to back gems early on...but they were entertaining nonetheless...but the biggest problem was the climax...my expectations were heightening gradually till the end...but the climax din't do justice to what they initially promised...a deadly gunfight between the two would have been more entertaining...

  • I Hate Luv Storys:

There is a huge potential for spoofing the cliches of Bollywood...but IHLS doesn't seem to be tht film...I think it'll start well but fall back to the same formula it is looking to deride as the lead actor realizes his "true love" and so on...the reason for such premonitions is the sentimental song "Bin Tere"...

So what abt ajay devgan?...read somewhere else tht he has been sidelined in the process...tht is sad because he has always done well with jha...

  • Kites:

Just as was being expected...For Bollywood going international means shooting out there, like them and with them...now, why should the Goras pay to watch this when they have seen such sleek car chases and stunts umpteenth times in their films....

Anyway I think the Indian audience will still lap it up just like they did with Dhoom 2...

  • Sarkar Raj:

well...you have given 2.5 out of 5 for the story. If this is the standard then story doesn't exist in Bollywood!
in fact it was one of the most well told stories in Hindi cinema.
And the twists have to be accepted because there is no way of "verifying" the twists of a fictional plot. That's part of a story and there is no point of questioning that.
