No, he didn't mean the Maratha community at all! I do think you are a good reviewer Meetu, but I don't think you have understood this movie. Also I don't agree that mentioning the great people past is annoying, I find it so odd that you say that! This is a movie about MH and about Maharahstrians, it is meant to wake up the dormant spirit of the Maharashtrians, and ofcourse each and every great person should be mentioned! In fact I felt more people should be mentioned, whether there is any sense of jealousy or not from those who live outside the state. Also I do not think that the message that you say were subtly delivered should have been hammered in. This was very clever of Manjrekar and he showed the rest through action!! Shivaji himself never did anything, simply told Dinkar Bhosale that he needed to wake up. Throughout the movie Bhosale himself does things to improve his lot and that is the main message of the movie, and I don't think the message is subtle at all...it's in your face through the action! And as for the dramatic representation, the movie as a whole is exaggerated, the "solutions" are not to be taken literally just as we need not believe that Shivaji actually came there to meet Dinkar. Workable and realistic solutions will be presented in a realistic movie, not in this kind of movie. The solutions presented went with the style of the movie, it all jelled.
Meetu, thanks for linking my review. I think you are making a commendable effort with this website. I am so sick of the movie critics, who mostly write rubbish reviews and tell the whole story! I never do, because just like you, I think there is no fun if you tell the story. I think movie critics nowadays don't know how to write reviews so they tell the story which even a fifth grader can do!
