This is an absolutely brilliant movie!!! In this genre 'American History X' was my favorite. But I must say "Khuda ke liye, American History X ka baap hai!"
First of all hats off to this great director Shoaib Mansoor for his courage to tackle this subject. This director has touched many sensitive issues very boldly.
This is a A strongly recommended must watch movie for everyone who dreams for a better world!
A great movie and an equally good review :-) I must say Meetu this is your finest review (according to me). You actually penned down everyone's feeling :-).
> “mein kabhi batlaata nahi” kept me speechless
Same here. I too can't remember the last time when the lyrics made me cry. Each and every sentence of all the songs is so appropriate it actually justified the use of Songs in Bollywood Movies ;)
Just there is this feeling of incompleteness. Everyone is praising Darsheel, Aamir, Prasoon... but people are not talking much about Amole. That mysterious controversy between him and AK is also cause of my sympathy for him. In spite of being AK's great fan I feel very sorry for Amole. And I hope this great guy will be able to direct his next film :-)
I think Meetu, you've really under rated this movie :-). You could have easily given one more star to it.
> Khoya Khoya Chand revolves around Nikhat and her relationships.
I don' think so. It revolves around passion, love, hunger of success, changing priorities of life, pain of being ahead of your time... and more than everything it revolves around the golden era of cinema, and what those people suffered from.
> But, after having blindly accepted that, I think I deserve a peep into how the couple spends time together and how they grow apart.
Here also I don't agree with you. Someone gave a reference to Closer. Closer is more about lust, possessiveness, jealousy, lies and all such kind of negativity. Where as KKC is delicate movie. For me KKC has only one love story, story of Nikhat and Zafar, unless you are thinking making love with someone is equivalent to loving that person.
I think, you under rated dialogues also. Few of the dialogues were really brilliant.
> And the other technical aspects are extraordinarily bizarre.
Hehehe it is not at all personal :) Well, I'm neither a SRK's big fan nor did I like the movie very much. I just didn't like the way you trashed the movie only because you have preconceived notions about SRK's acting abilities and you are too intelligent to enjoy humor of 'spoof' category.
My personal take is if the movie has done a fair business, then even if you didn't like it, it doesn't mean that movie was bullshit. It just means that the movie was not made for you, it was made for someone else. That part of audience liked it very much made it a hit.
Movies are made for masses and not for couple of critics (no offense meant). I don't know anything about appreciating the cinema. But I know to enjoy the cinema, you have to put yourself in the shoes of targeted audience. As someone has said people can not enjoy because :
If mass is not able to appreciate a movie it doesn't mean that the movie was really "intelligent".
Watching the movie and reading AK's interpretation of the movie - I can only conclude -> 1. He is an arrogant man. 2. He is a self proclaimed pseudo meta intellectual person and the way he is fighting ...wisdom is miles apart from him :-)
> And I could complain about artistic liberties taken, if only there was any art in sight.
ROTFL!!!

@ Meetu
> because I have seen worse…much worse!
Hehehe :))
People like SRK, Ekata Kapur, Himesh ... etc know very well what sales, and they are good at selling it :-).
So hate them or love them... you have to accept it they RULE! Thats why OSO is the biggest hit at the box office this year :-)
