@Shantanu uhh...no. It was a mushy one, with some lame joke. But I loved the first link you have here. Have updated my post accordingly!
There was a certain freshness about Mr. India that is obviously difficult to recreate in today’s day and age, but Ra.one is definitely more bearable than Krish, Koi Mil Gaya, and Dashavatar. I am aware that that by itself doesn’t really amount to anything, but then, neither does Ra.One.

being a movie lover ,, i can say first half of the film is par excellent with any hollywood movie,,in 1st half story, plot runs smoothly, nd with our any boring spells ,and exciting at end of 1st half,,,coming to 2nd half the story and screenplay and everything makes the film boring,,( poor comedy, poor sentiment,,,drives away from main plot of film,, cheap climax setting ,, nd many) ,, 2nd half presented in a way to catch up indian audiences nd routine films ,, when the plot nd story in 1st half made the movie a magic spell,, the film makers can make better ,, BEST 2nd half,, ( like level 2 gaming as one action sequel session immediat post interval nd last level at climax,,, tht too they could have selected locations like metro in delhi,, any airport, tajmahal, charminar,, or any shipping harbour,, for action sequels with some good visuvals not like tht of climax of film part in 2nd half ) tht could havd been better..
But again indian film makers has proved tht we can make par excellent films comparing to any film industry,,

It's no mans land. Useless movie. Take out '.' from G.one
RA.one is a disaster of epic proportions. It is a little bit of this and a little bit of that but doesn't hang together in any which way, shape or form. For anyone! Its trying to save a sci-fi element, some 3D gamifications, some double-entendre jokes/dialogs (from condoms to "iski lee", "uski lee", etc.). You are better of donating your money to charity and not having to pop headache medication...

You start off with "Ra.One works as a brilliant film for kids". It could have only if it avoided vulgarity. While watching with my 6 yr old son, I was fearing that he may pick words.
SRK said that he wanted to make a superhero film for his son. I wonder if his son likes such kind of humor. How can he be so careless about kids and subject them to such crass humor ?
@subhorup agree about it being more tolerable than Krishh and co.
@vishal thanks for the vote of confidence, but I agree with Pradeep. My reasons might be slightly different, but I don't think it is a completely awful film.
@Ajay That kind of language children pick up from friends these days. Its a film for kids in the sense that the basic moral story of good over evil is dealt with at a very simplistic level and many jokes and special effects, the kids are going to absolutely love!
... physics and all it's laws are never respected in hindi movies ...but i never cringed when Jeetendra did those stunts to climb sri devi's balcony in white pants and white shoes ... but when after spending 175 crores you kill phyics it hurts ... there is no logic ... on top desi critics are going gaga over animation .... last movie with VFX that i watched was Iron Man 2 ...compared to that Ra.one is not even mediocre ...it's pathetic ... a normal punch can have multiple effects ...OK... but different force level though momentum looks almost similar !!! .... cars are flying OK ...but why till horizon !!!.... and don't know about kids ...but i was definitely more impressed by evil (ra.one) than good

For in so many years I got a houseful sign at the London cinema (60 miles from where I live) for the 10:00 PM, 10:20 PM and 11:20 PM shows on a Wednesday night!!!! Considering the fact that it was a working day next day didnt seem to deter a lot of people... Mrs G was one of those and we drove a further 10 miles to finally make it in nick of time to get the tkts for a 11:20 PM show!!! Thank God...
This kind of proves that SRK got his mktg strategy right! However, I think people are dissing this film only because of excessive mktg! Believe it or not I had told my wife the exact story after watching the Dildaara song video and cud easily predict while watching the movie the entry of the main protagonist G-one!!! These are moments in the movie that cud have potentially shocked viewers but the endless loop of mktg cycle ensured that keen observers were able to second guess the makers intentions.
Also, I reckon that the movie suffers from a too many opinions on board mentality! It is clearly not one man's vision and work rather its a mixed bag of different people trying to put in all the elements that will appeal.
Having said all of that, I will stick my neck out and say that I slept on Thursday morning at 5:00 AM and went to work at 8:00AM... I didnt mind that at all... What an effort to bring stuff like this on Hindi cinema's screen!!! 3 on 5 just for the effort... It doesnt look tacky and yeah hopefully the makers learn from their mistakes and give us a sequel worthy to remember!

I watched Ra.One just to appreciate the hard work put by SRK in the movie. That said, the movie is a huge disappointment. To say that Ra.One didn't realize its full potential will be an under statement. I would blame the director for making such a mess with all resources at his disposal. And SRK, if you are reading this, please stop adding pervert jokes in your movies. It is no longer funny.
@Vishal of course, i liked Ra.One better than G.One too. Only wish they'd show a little more of him

I have had 11 wall posts about Ra one and 8 of them are negative with 2 positve praising only the special effects.The fil is not working among teens and young adults too.
As for the kids my friend took his younger sister to see Ra one and she hated it too.I think overkill has killed this film
what a pity! who thought it will be such a big fiasco anyways good luck for don2 SRK ... nice review meetu The keen must watch on screen; else DVD (?) - That is if you are a child or are keen for action/VFX

The movie has already made a record by earning 170 Crore INR worldwide in first five days of release. But, does a mere materialistic statistical data can satisfy the creative thirst when you are at the helm .. The King Khan...!! Perhaps not.. !! But the reality is, he is at the helm of an industry ... he heads a business..!!! and when in business, those data says it all... it can even fetch more and more crowd to the screens..!! The Diwali has given it all to him.. but even the die hard admirers are hitting hard on him..!! An impromptu climax...grip-less story ... and a heat-less scripting... doesn't emote much.. Expectations fell flat.. this is not the way the kings act ... be it in business or art or anyhting, you say...!!!!!!

Could have been an engaging Kids movie, if SRK had refrained from 9 crotch, 3 breast, 6 "Oh Fish", 1 booty references, a gay flight security personnel & the host of other innuendoes, all for the sake of cheap comic relief. Adding a bit of clothing to the Chamak Challo "kamasutrasque" backup dancers would have added grace to a peppy song. People expect more from a star of SRKs stature.
With 4 scriptwriters, not an original sequence(except Chamak Challo), HART from Ironman, Video game premise from Spy Kids, Train sequence, ending fall at the car fight scene from Spider man. The parallel with Raavan was the only thing not done before. Even Rajni sequence ended abruptly, why couldn't he have transferred some data/power to G.One?
There is a lot I liked in the movie, esp. the action, SFX sequences, production values etc. Arjun did a fair job in his time, looking meaning & Bebo put in a decent effort, esp. in the menacing part. SRK was controlled, except his Tamil stint was horribly wrong.
A little cleaning up, more originality in the story & 30 mins less would have made it a classic.
Saw Ra-one...Sleek Sci-fi fantasy genre with gud vfx :)
@Paresh :D actually the Rajni sequence, I felt was an afterthought. If I remember right, I don't think there were too many shots with the main cast and Rajnikant in one frame. I wouldn't be surprised if years later (if we still care), there's trivia floating around that the Rajni scenes were shot completely separately and no one other than the cameraman was around for those shots. :D

Its amusing that you call this disaster called Ra.One a lot more 'bearable' than Krrish. At least Krrish did not pretend to be a kids movie. Ra.One is a pathetic piece of nonsense which uses disgusting gay jokes and pathetic one liners all in the name of entertainment. Krrish is way better than this. And lets not even compare the physique and body language of Hrithik-the superhero and SRK-the superhero(a very old one at that).
