This was certainly a good watch. However, for a film with so few characters, the story could have been much more engrossing. If locations were really cool and refreshing, the music was so-so. It's not so clear to me why the movie was called "Mod". The side stories on Kishore Kumar and those resort guys seemed a bit pointless and haven't really contributed much to the story. Humour was almost non-existent.
Ayesha Takia did a wonderful job and I also liked the performance of Rannvijay Singh. I was arguing with my friend on how he was way better than SRK in MNIK !! Tanvi Azmi's character is also instantly likeable. Whatever budget this movie was made in, it was money well spent !!
Meetu - although this movie is worth a watch, I really don't think it meets your high standards to be awarded the rating "Watch for sure, Preferably in theatre". May be a notch or two lower would have been justified. What say ??
@Anand :D I was indeed debating between, "The keen must watch on screen; else DVD" and "Watch on screen, preferably in theater" But, it felt unfair to not urge people to watch it.
Also, I didn't mind the Kishore Kumar and resort-company side-stories, because I think they added to what we knew about Ayesha. She had to be this strong person because her father was rather uninvolved and lived in a world of his own. The pressure of the loan was necessary for us to warm up to her so that we would want her to be happy in her love life at least.
