Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 - Preview

Sure, the characters are porn artists, so there is bound to be lewdness. Crass sexual commentary is going to try and pass off as innuendo though there couldn't be a more direct sexual remark. To top it off it is a comedy which means there will be lots of slapstick. While individually, I can tide through any of these, I can't see myself liking even one moment of the film. Or even if I do, I don't think the rest of the film be worth the one or two smiles.

So, I'll sit this porn-com out. Thank you.

So-So, by Rohit Vats, Hindustan Times : ...To be honest, this one picks pace only when it shifts to Thai-land. And most of the parody porn part is funny. Consider this: Main jagat sajni hoon, mere bar, I mean darbaar me apka har-dik swagat hai. The way Gizele Thakral says it will simply crack you up. Only if you’re not too ‘sanskari’, though. ... full review

So-So, by Divya Solgama, MoviezADDA : ...So on an overall basis, ‘Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3’ ends up as a freezy product which is a mixture of some witty humour from ‘Kyaa Kool Hain Hum’ and the loud crude humour from ‘Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum’. ... full review

Thumbs down, by Anna MM Vetticad, annavetticadgoes2themovies : ...Even within this series, the first Kyaa Kool Hain Hum (2005) was fun because there was a freshness to it, an impertinence that cocked a snook at ultra-conservatives, even if it pandered to those very conservatives with its many stereotypes. The follow-up film, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum, was boring, offensive and icky. Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 is not even trying. Maybe it's our fault that, as an audience, we made its predecessors hits. As with politicians and the media, so it is with cinema - I guess we get the films we deserve. What next? Kya Super Stupid Hain Hum? ... full review

Thumbs down, by Ushnota Paul, Filmfare : ...One feels the actors jumped on the project because this premise looks juicy enough on the script level. Thumbs down, by Gayatri Gauri, FirstPost : ...Now, if you are still interested in the nuts and bolts of all these animals, go ahead. But if you want to see Tusshar Kapoor running in a red saree to the tunes of The Dirty Pictures, escaping from his own father (Shakti Kapoor) lusting after her/him, removing oranges from his blouse, stripping on a beach, it’s entirely your funeral….sorry…call. ... full review

Thumbs down, by Tanul Thakur , FirstPost : ...The film’s so apologetic in these portions, and tries to mask that by making its sex scenes superficially funny, that you wonder who’s the butt of a joke here. Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 is a terrible film, not just because it’s neither funny nor erotic, but also because it discredits an entire genre. Sex comedies can be fun, too; they can also be intelligent, engaging, and original. Dear 12 year olds, who might discover this film online and regret their onset of puberty, don’t worry. Life gets better. ... full review

Thumbs down, by Johnson Thomas, Free Press Journal : ...Successful films are spoofed here but the writing and the acting just doesn’t lead up to any fun. The censor boards’ 150 cuts may have done some damage but methinks it was a god send. The stuff you are made to suffer through here is more than what a decent mind can take. Leave your brains at home if you are still interested in watching this! ... full review

Thumbs down, by RAJEEV MASAND, IBN Live : ...For a film that boldly advertises itself as a 'porn-com', Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 is surprisingly limp. It's underwhelming both in its raunchiness and its level of humor – frankly, I've read jokes forwarded on Whatsapp that are more naughty than anything in this film. ... full review

Thumbs down, by Jaidev Hemmady, Movie Talkies : ...Not that this reviewer has any issues with adult comedies, but when a filmmaker decides to insert crassness disguised as humour, it is bound to rub us the wrong way. Barring a couple of good gags, the film is full of crude and lame jokes, which won't even make you chuckle. However, if you are in the mood for gawking at women in swimsuits, this film might surely appeal to you. ... full review

sequel was disappointing, so will skip this.

Well, Meeta - even knowing what we were getting to, my American Bollywood movie friends and I watched it tonight. Though we laughed through the entire thing, you were right not to watch it - it was really lowbrow, vulgar and stupid.

Even by the standards of adult comedy it didn't really work - despite being about a couple schlubs working in porno movies, there was no nudity, no sex (not even kissing), and no swearing. It was like a lot of "Oh, aren't we naughty with all this innuendo?"

That said, we did laugh a lot - well, except for Tammy, who just grumped about how stupid it was throughout. Maybe it works better if you're watching it with a bunch of friends, and you can enjoy a game cast broadly making jokes older than time itself....
